Lately, I've been reflecting on a troubling trend involving students and their use of social media (Students Target Teachers in Group TikTok Attack, Shaking Their School.) It's disheartening to see organized attacks against teachers online. This behavior reminds me of students running wild on a playground without supervision.

Imagine a playground where kids are left alone, free to do whatever they please. Without any guidance or rules, chaos would quickly ensue. The strongest or loudest might dominate, while others might feel bullied or unsafe. This is exactly what it feels like when students target their teachers on social media. It's like a playground without supervision in many cases.

Teachers work hard to shape and educate young minds. Seeing them get attacked online disrespects their efforts and creates a toxic environment. We wouldn't stand for such behavior in a physical playground, so why should it be any different in the digital world? There is a reason students have supervision in school. It's because when you are young and learning, you need adults to help show you the way to go.

It's crucial that we step in and provide the necessary supervision. Parents, educators, and even students need to understand the impact of their online actions. Just like on a playground, establishing rules and promoting respect can significantly improve the atmosphere.

We need to remember that social media is a powerful tool. It can be used to build up and support rather than tear down. Let's guide our students to use it responsibly and ensure that our virtual playground is safe for everyone, teachers included.
