Protect Children, Not Guns
We can do better.
I was riding home the other day and it started raining. As I was about to head through downtown I hit a red light.
As Β I was sitting there, I heard chanting in the distance, "Protect Children, Not Guns...Protect Children, Not Guns."
Then a line of people wearing ponchos holding signs emerged from the parking. They started walking down the highway chanting and marching for what they believed in. The rain continued.
It was one of those moments where I was both happy and sad. I was happy to see people taking action in the wake of the most recent horrific school shooting. It seems so many people care enough to call for change. People are ready for something different. Something that will stop this unnecessary violence in our country.
I was also sad. Sad that the people with the power to do something don't seem to want the same thing.
We can do better.
We should do better.
That is all.
