Getting Reading to Be Gone

Every time I do this I can't believe how long it takes to get ready for a guest teacher.

I've been sitting in a high school gym for the last four hours while watching my daughter's swim meet.

For three of the hours, I worked on preparing for a substitute teacher. I'm excited and grateful that the leadership in my school supports this type of professional development. It's a big job to get ready to be gone.

Every time I do this I can't believe how long it takes to get ready for a guest teacher. I've only known teaching for the last 24 years, and always wonder if it's like this in other professions.

It's even more challenging when sick.

I'm also amazed at how much happens in one day at school.

I'll be going to school tomorrow for a couple of more hours, and when I finished it will feel good. ย The conference will be great.

In the end, it's worth it.
