  • I stayed up too late watching election coverage. It was tough to gain momentum this morning.
  • Yesterday, I helped coach the girls’ basketball team. To celebrate their victory, they brought in donuts. My self-control wavered, and I ate one.
  • In science, we’re burning samples of Cheetos and Caramel Rice Cakes to measure the energy released. It’s going pretty well, but when I look at the fume hood, a good number of students have trouble staying focused.
  • I was able to spend time working on the newsletter this Friday. I continue brainstorming ways to earn enough to cover costs and eventually run a few ads to grow the Why Edify Community.  My goal for this upcoming year is to surpass 1,000 community members.
  • I need to pick up a few more lighters for the science lab, as a couple died today.
  • We had our Brene Brown book club today.  It was a good discussion. I appreciate each member of my group. One of my takeaways is that toxic positivity if left unchecked, can be a culture killer.
  • Student-led conference preparation is in full swing.
  • I spent some time reworking the directions for my current events one-pager assignments. I plan to share them in an upcoming post.
