25th Year Teaching - Classroom Is Ready, Goals Are Set

Tomorrow is the first day of school with students present. This will be my 25th year teaching at Arbor-Vitae Woodruff School.

My room is ready (photos below) and I'm as prepared as I'm going to be.

Here are some of my goals for this school year.

• I'm excited to improve how students use interactive notebooks in science and social studies. Here's my current plan.
• I'm currently reading about Eduprotocols and look forward to implementing what I learn.
• This is going to be the year of intentionally building in Brain Breaks with regularity.

As always, the day before the first day is bittersweet. It's hard to say goodbye to summer, but I always enjoy getting to know a new group of kids.
